Our product line includes alcohol awareness materials and information such as alcohol prevention posters; drug and alcohol prevention games; resources to decrease youth violence in your community, including ways to stop gang violence; materials targeting teen dating violence; meth, underage drinking, tobacco, prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, ecstasy and marijuana prevention resources; a product line specially designed for those in the early childhood field; and resources that address community issues such as crime and homelessness.

Our product images reflect an understanding of diversity and are written at a level most people can easily understand. We are in the process of adding products written in Spanish to more truly meet the needs of those we serve.

Our resources have been tested and used in the field to ensure they reach the intended audience with the intended message. For example, when a product is designed for young people, we conduct focus groups to ensure that our message resonates with them.

You may notice we offer many resources directed to parents and adults. In our experience, and research backs this up, it is often these very groups that are contributing greatly to whatever the problem may be. So, our materials are designed to graphically grab their attention and then hold it with hard-hitting facts.

Developed From User Feedback

Often a product is developed in response to a request from a community we serve. For example, in response to requests for a resource that would outline ways to stop gang violence, we developed the Community Toolkit on Preventing Gangs and Youth Violence. In other cases, a product is developed in response to data that indicates a growing problem, such as our prescription drug abuse materials.

Whatever the case may be, Cafe Prevention prides itself on developing products in formats that work on many levels to effect change.

Our Postcards

We use a lot of postcards, unlike many other companies. The idea came from parents who stated that a short, concise, hard-hitting and eye-catching postcard mailed to them or handed out at events would get their attention. These remain one of our most popular products.

Our Rack Cards

These are popular with nearly everyone as they fit neatly into standard brochure holders. Short, sweet and to the point. Teens especially, don’t want to wade through a long document. Counselors, parents, teens – all groups really appreciate this format.

Our Posters

Our engaging and eye-catching prevention posters remain a cost effective and popular way to spread your message. They are smaller than many, as teachers, counselors, health professionals and businesses said they needed to be small enough to put behind glass in display units or elevators, and smaller was more cost effective to laminate if they displayed them in halls.

Our Brochures

Our brochures are designed to convey important facts in a manner that will engage the audience.  Thus, they may feature photos or graphics, but will always have adequate white space so as to not overwhelm the reader.

Our Decals/Magnets/Wallet Cards

These have all hit their mark. Retailers appreciate the decals for their cooler doors, and the high school/college crowd love the alcohol poisoning wallet cards and magnets - so do their parents. We have seen them proudly displayed on many a fridge door and we hope they may save a life.

Our Community Toolkits and Games

We offer several drug and alcohol prevention games as well as one on issues dealing with teen relationships/dating and one on homelessness. Again, all designed to meet a need in the communities we work with, and all tried and tested and found to be an effective and fun way to help youth and adults learn.

Our Toolkits were developed in response to communities asking for a "how to manual" that would provide the resources needed to rally their community around prescription/over-the-counter drug abuse and youth and gang violence. These have jump-started the process in many communities with their easy-to-use format.

Billboards/Banners/Print Media

Many of our items can be made into billboards and other media forms, which are becoming increasingly popular. Please see our Customization section for more information.

The point of all this is that our products may look a bit different from our competitors, but that is intentional. At Cafe Prevention, we create materials that inspire change in the lives and minds of the people who use them.
